How long will my medical illustration take?

Every project is unique, so the timeline depends on the complexity of the illustrations or designs. It really depends on how complex the project is, but I'm always transparent and keep you in the loop throughout the whole process. My clients have been really happy with how quickly work without sacrificing quality.

My process is designed to be collaborative, efficient, and scientifically rigorous to ensure the final visual meets your exact goals.
Discovery: I begin by defining your target audience and the project’s specific purpose. Whether you need patient-facing education materials for a pamphlet or high-fidelity medical device illustrations for surgeons, I tailor the complexity and style to suit the end user.
Research & Conceptual Sketching: I conduct deep dives into the anatomical or technical subject matter to ensure accuracy. I then create digital sketches on my iPad or Photoshop, providing you with a preliminary look at the composition and flow for your feedback.
Production & Refinement: Once the sketch is approved, I transition to the Adobe Creative Suite. Using professional tools like Photoshop or Illustrator, I refine the linework and apply color or rendering.
Final Delivery: You’ll get a high quality, file ready to go for whatever you need, whether it's for a website, a printed book, or a big presentation.
Can you work from my rough sketches or surgical videos?

Absolutely! I love working from rough sketches or references because it helps me see exactly what you're thinking. I can create professional, polished illustrations from just about anything - whether it's a napkin sketch, a surgical video, or a complex abstract. Sending these over early on is great because it helps me speed up the process even more.
Do you handle confidential projects?

I work with a lot of sensitive medical data and unreleased devices, so I take privacy very seriously. I'm always happy to sign an NDA before we get started. In fact, my portfolio would be way bigger if I could show everything I work on, but I always respect my clients' privacy!
